Thermopile Arrangement

Our Flux-Strip technology uses thermopile strips (orange) to measure the heat flux.

In a custom sensor these can be arranged freely.

Sensitivity & Calibration The sensitivity is determined by the total length of all Flux-Strips connected in series. A higher number of thermopiles increases signal output, resulting in higher sensitivity and a lower calibration factor .

Single Area vs Matrix

  • Single Area: Connecting all Flux-Strips in series into one single element provides maximum sensitivity but low spatial resolution (the sensor provides one average value for the entire area).

  • Individually addressable Matrix: Flux-Strips can be addressed individually to gain spatial resolution. This comes at the cost of lower sensitivity per element.

  • Combining both methods. Matrix elements can be wired in series outside of the sensor if needed. This way you can switch between spacial resolution and signal sensitivity.

Temperature Sensors

We can integrate temperature Sensors (usually PT1000, PT100, NTC) or other electronic components. We recommed SMD components of a maximum size of 0603 to keep the sensor as flat as possible.
